Radio Free Asia‘s Burmese Service reports on ongoing human trafficking problems at Thailand-Malaysia border win a prestigious New York Festivals’ World Best Radio Programs award.
As a reporter, I have been extensively covering those stories from 2007 to present–meeting people who were part of the modern slave trade– including victims, perpetrators, witnesses and human rights activists in the region. Besides from occasional frequent reportage, I aired 6 part special reports in 2008, 8 part special reports in 2009.
I visited most of the trouble hot spots in Thailand, Malaysia and Burma border. This year, 4 of 8 part reports aired from RFA Burmese Service last year wins New York Festivals’ 2010 Best Ongoing News Story (Bronze World Trophy).
