When Zarganar, Burma’s most popular comedian, was arrested on June 4, 2008, at 10:30 PM, he was very active in his humanitarian mission for victims of Cyclone Nargis. We did not understand why such a person was arrested for doing such a good things for humanity, said then 83-year-old mother, Daw Kyi Oo. For Kyaw Thu, Burma’s famous humanitarian actor, detention of Zaganar by authorities meant a great loss for humanitarian colleagues, as well as for the cyclone victims. Both interviews were conducted and aired on June 6, 2008 from Radio Free Asia’s Burmese Service.
Zarganar’s mother, who was in the first interview, was passed away at 84 on March 20, 2009, while her comedian son had been sentenced to 65 years and transferred to Myintkyina prison, Burma’s one of the remote prisons in northern Kachin State.

ကိုဇာဂနာရဲ့ ေမြးေန႔ အေၾကာင္းနဲ႔ အကယ္ဒမီအေၾကာင္း ကိုေက်ာ္သူနဲ႔ေမးျမန္းခဲ့တာကို လူအမ်ားစိတ္၀င္တစား ၀င္ေရာက္ဖတ္ၾက နားေထာင္ၾကတာေတြ႔ရေတာ့ ကိုဇာဂနာ အဖမ္းခံရျပီလို႔ ေသခ်ာသြားတဲ့အခ်ိန္ ကိုေက်ာ္သူနဲ႔ ကိုဇာဂနာမိခင္ၾကီး ေဒၚၾကည္ဦးတို႔ကို က်ေနာ့္ဆက္သြယ္ေမးျမန္းျပီး လြတ္လပ္တဲ့ အာရွအသံ (အာအက္ဖ္ေအ) ေရဒီယိုကေန ထုတ္လႊင့္ခဲ့ဖူးတာကို က်ေနာ့ ဘေလာ့ဂ္မွာ အမွတ္တရ ျပန္တင္လိုက္တာပါ။
ကိုဇာဂနာကို ကေလးဘ၀ ၈ တန္းေက်ာင္းသားကတည္းက ျမန္မာ့ရုပ္ျမင္သံၾကားကလာတဲ့ အျငိမ့္ခန္းေတြမွာ မျပတ္တန္းၾကည့္ဖူး။ ၾကိဳက္ဖူးခဲ့ပါတယ္။ သူ႔စိတ္ကူးနဲ႔ သူ႔အေျပာအဆို ေလယူေလသိမ္းကအစ သေဘာက်ခဲ့တာ ႏွစ္ေပါင္း ၂၀ သာေက်ာ္လာပါတယ္။ အၾကိဳက္မပ်က္ပါ။
ရန္ကုန္ စာေပေလာကနဲ႔ စာနယ္ဇင္းေလာကကို ၁၉၉၉ မွာ ေရာက္လာေပမယ့္ ကိုဇာဂနာနဲ႔ သိပ္မဆံုခဲ့ရပါ။
၂၀၀၁ ေလာက္က ဆရာစံခန္းမမွာ လင္းဦးတာရာ ကိုေအာင္(ကိုေအာင္စိုးမင္း)က ျပင္သစ္သူ မခ်ိဳခ်ိဳကို မင္းသမီးအျဖစ္ ပြဲထုတ္ျပီး အျငိမ့္ဗီဒီယိုရိုက္ေတာ့ က်ေနာ့ကိုပါ လိုက္ၾကည့္ဖို႔ ေခၚေတာ့ လိုက္သြားပါတယ္၊ အဲဒီမွာ ကိုဇာဂနာနဲ႔ ကိုငွက္ေပ်ာေက်ာ္တို႔ကို လူခ်င္းေတြ႔ဖူးပါတယ္။ လူခ်င္းမိတ္ဆက္ေပးေတာ့ က်ေနာ္ အယ္ဒီတာလုပ္ေနတဲ့ ျမန္မာသစ္ဂ်ာနယ္အေၾကာင္း နည္းနည္းေျပာျဖစ္ပါတယ္။ ဒီတခါပဲ လူခ်င္းေတြ႔ဖူး စကားေျပာဖူးပါတယ္။
အျပင္ေရာက္လာျပီး ေရဒီယိုမွာ အသံလႊင့္၀န္ထမ္း၀င္လုပ္ေတာ့ သူ႔ေျပာတာ၊ သူလုပ္တာေတြ ပိုသိျမင္ၾကားေတြ႔လာရပါတယ္။
ဒါေပမယ့္ အေၾကာင္းမဆံုေတာ့ အင္တာဗ်ဴးတို႔ သတင္းတို႔ မလုပ္ျဖစ္ပါ။ တျခားသူေတြ လုပ္ၾကတာမ်ားပါတယ္။
၂၀၀၈ ဇြန္လ ၄ ရက္ ည ၁၀ နာရီခန္႔က ခဏဆိုျပီး အာဏာပိုင္ေတြက ကိုဇာဂနာကို လာျပီး ေခၚသြားတာ ေနာက္ရက္ေတြမွ ဖမ္းတာမွန္း ေသခ်ာသြားပါတယ္။ နာဂစ္ဆိုက္ကလုန္းမုန္တိုင္းက်အျပီး ကယ္ဆယ္ေရးအလုပ္ေတြကို ၾကိဳးၾကိဳးစားစားလုပ္ေနခ်ိန္ တလခန္႔အၾကာမွာ အဖမ္းခံရျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
သူအဖမ္းခံရတယ္လို႔ အေသခ်ာေျပာႏုိင္တဲ့ ဇြန္ ၆ ရက္ေန႔ကေတာ့ တာ၀န္က်တဲ့ေန႔လည္းျဖစ္ေတာ့ ကိုဇာဂနာရဲ့ အေမ ဆရာမၾကီး ေဒၚၾကည္ဦးနဲ႔ ကယ္ဆယ္ေရးလုပ္ေနတဲ့ သူ႔လို ျပည္သူခ်စ္ ထင္ရွားတဲ့ အႏုပညာရွင္ (ဆြမ္းေလာင္းျပီး ကုသုိလ္ယူဖက္) ကိုေက်ာ္သူတို႔ ကို က်ေနာ္ ဆက္သြယ္ေမးျမန္းျပီး သတင္းယူခဲ့ပါတယ္။
ဒီဆက္သြယ္ေမးျမန္းခ်က္ေတြထဲက ကိုဇာဂနာရဲ့ အေမ ဆရာမၾကီး ေဒၚၾကည္ဦးဟာ ၂၀၀၉ (မႏွစ္က) မတ္လ ၂၀ ရက္ေန႔ အသက္ ၈၄ ႏွစ္အရြယ္မွာ ကြယ္လြန္သြားခဲ့ပါတယ္။ စိတ္မေကာင္းစရာက ကိုဇာဂနာဟာ ေထာင္ဒဏ္ ႏွစ္ရွည္ခ်ခံထားရျပီး ျမစ္ၾကီးနားေထာင္ကို ေရာက္ေနခ်ိန္ျဖစ္ပါတယ္။
ဆက္သြယ္ေမးျမန္းခ်က္ေတြကို ေအာက္မွာ နားဆင္ၾကည့္ႏိုင္ပါတယ္။
